International education winners across 20 categories have been revealed at a glamorous gala held at the prestigious Guildhall in London.

With joint winners in one category, the 21 winners and a further 28 highly commended finalists were recognised for their accomplishments over the past year.

“Despite the policy challenges our sector has been facing over the past year, we have, once again, seen an extremely high level of innovation, creativity and talent showcased through this year’s PIEoneers’ entries,” said Clare Gossage, COO and co-founder of The PIE.

“We received entries from 34 countries, which demonstrates the global reach of the awards, now in their eighth year. One of our new categories for 2024 – Excellence in data and insight – proved very popular, and reflects an increase in both supply and demand of robust industry data that people can access to inform their decision making.

“This year, we are improving our sustainability credentials by encouraging guests to consider making a greener choice for their outfit by wearing something pre-worn, and we look forward to hearing their outfit stories via #ThePIEgreencarpet.

“Having recently become a signatory of the CANIE Accord, we are also pleased to be collaborating with CANIE via the #TravelWithCANIE initiative and #ThePIEConvoy for those travelling to EAIE after the PIEoneers, encouraging people to make sustainable travel choices where possible.”

As winners of the the Sustainability international impact award, CANIE was recognised while AIFS Abroad and CIS Abroad were both awarded highly commended for their efforts.

The coveted PIEoneer of the year award went to Taiwan’s NTU for its International Mentorship Program. In this category, Honoris United Universities were highly commended.

Two winners were announced for the Outstanding contribution to industry award: Darla K. Deardorff and Virginia M. Macchiavello, while Nunzio Quacquarelli was highly commended in this category.
