Introduce yourself in three words or phrases.
Beautiful, energetic, lovable.
What do you like most about your job?
I like connecting with the students. Being with the government, it gives me an opportunity to connect with more people and explain the things that are there for them. Opening their mindset to new opportunities is what really excites me.
Best work trip?
I am most happy when I take delegations from India to Ireland and expose them to different things about the country. It’s not just about meeting the company, but also exploring the culture of Ireland. When the delegation is able to experience the culture, I am really happy.
I don’t think I have had a bad work trip yet since we get to choose our work trips.
If you could learn a language instantly, which would you pick and why?
I am very bad at languages but definitely Spanish because that’s a language I have always wanted to learn. I would love to love Spanish.
What makes you get up in the morning?
Just knowing that it’s a new day and there’s so much more I can explore.
Champion/cheerleader we should all follow and why?
This is just for me, but the biggest champion/cheerleader for me is myself. It’s always better to believe in yourself and let yourself take you forward. I am a firm believer in the idea that you are your strongest competitor.
Best international education conference and why
I think The PIE in Mumbai event because it was very focused. Even though it only had two sessions, you could get a lot out of them so I found that really good. And I also made a lot of new friends.
The other one is not education but I went to a conference by CAPA, which is the centre for aviation, where I was able to meet a lot of serious business people, which I think is important in my industry.
Worst conference food or beverage experience
I think some five star hotels have really horrible food, and they should probably use an Irish technology called EcoBurner so the food doesn’t stick to the bottoms of those pans.
The PIE in Mumbai event… was very focused. Even though it only had two sessions, you could get a lot out of them.
Book or podcast recommendation for others in the sector?
Do Epic Shit by Ankur Warikoo is a good book for people to read because it’s like opening a textbook. Even if you read a single part, you can digest it and you don’t need to read it from start to finish.
Describe a project or initiative you’re currently working on that excites you.
Besides education, what I am working on is promoting aviation and the Irish aviation sector. That excites me because a lot of people know Ireland as a leasing hub but, besides SpiceJet, the carpets and seat covers for major airline companies are made in Ireland. So talking to people about the Irish aviation sector is what excites me.
